Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter
1855 SE Inner Loop
Georgetown, TX 78626

We will be doing a group volunteer event at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Please come volunteer to help this organization which does so much for our furry friends. The shelter’s main goal is to aid in providing humane care, rehabilitating, and rehoming lost or abandoned pets. This goal includes vaccinations, behavioral training, and medical attention when necessary. These shelters heavily rely on volunteers to direct funds towards helping the pets and to maintain a comfortable environment. The shelter has a wide range of needs in which we would spend just a few hours to care for the facility and give some much-needed relief to the staff and pets that are there every day. This is also a great opportunity for families and children ages 12 or above.

Some of the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter goals are to:• To be an advocate for the unwanted, lost, or abandoned pets and to provide a humane, safe environment for the housing of these animals.
• To find loving permanent homes for the adoptable animals that are brought to our shelter.
• To relieve the pain and suffering of animals in a humane, compassionate environment.
• Reduce the number of stray and abandoned animals by encouraging responsible pet ownership with emphasis on spaying or neutering, identification, and vaccination.

• To identify those animals with illnesses, injuries, or behavioral issues that can be rehabilitated and adopted into permanent, loving homes.

Attire: Work may be messy and done outside. Dress appropriately for the weather and in clothes you don't mind getting dirty and wear closed toed shoes, preferably with tread.

Tasks: Task needs vary from day to day so be prepared to help with cleaning play yards, laundry, dishes and moving supplies back and forth between buildings.
